1. Description and Introduction
• Overview: Delivery of a bidirectional horizontal roller furnace, Type SC-Z15K15050, for the thermal tempering of flat and bent glass (6–19 mm).
• Manufacturer: Shanghai North Glass Technology Industrial Co., Ltd.
• Technology: The SC series represents the latest generation of thermal tempering systems, incorporating numerous patents developed by North Glass.
• Key Advantages: These systems offer specific advantages in glass flatness and the prevention of stress formation. It has been celebrated as a new, error-free generation for high-quality products.
• System Components: The SC-Z15K15050 is a bidirectional plant comprising loading tables, a furnace section, flat (S-1K150) and bent (S-5K50) cooling sections, blower heads, an unloading table, a ventilation/cooling system, and a complete control system.
• Applications: It is used for manufacturing flat tempered glass (ESG) and cylindrically bent tempered glass, particularly for architectural applications.

2. Technical Sections
2.2 Loading Table
• Construction: Equipped with full-surface, rubber-coated steel rollers.
• Operation: Once glass is placed on the rollers, it is automatically transported to the furnace entrance, where it waits in a standby position until the computer grants the command to enter.
• Features: Includes lamps underneath for optical inspection, side loading rollers, and a lifting ball-transfer table for easier positioning.
2.3 Furnace Section
• Design: A double-walled chamber featuring high-temperature resistant ceramic rollers from Vesuvius.
• Heating: Spiral resistors on ceramic holders are positioned above and below the rollers. The upper section has 216 heating elements, and the lower has 112, each with independent control circuits.
• Thermal Control: The system uses matrix-style heating grid technology and intelligent modulation to ensure stable and uniform heating.
• Convection: Multiple high-temperature, frequency-controlled fans are mounted to the side of the furnace. This technology resolves temperature imbalances and increases productivity by approximately 20% compared to radiation-only furnaces.
• Drive System: A servo-controlled synchronous endless belt system is used to minimize the risk of glass scratches.
2.4 Quenching and Bending Sections
• Flat Quenching (S-1K150): Uses high-performance blowers to apply high air pressure to both sides of the glass. The blower distance is automatically adjusted by the computer.
• Patented Oscillation: North Glass utilizes patents to oscillate the cooling section horizontally while the glass moves, preventing stress and ensuring optimal optical properties.
• Bending Section (S-5K50): Features a deformable roller track that changes shape to match the desired bend once the glass has entered. No separate molds are required, and the glass oscillates within the form for uniform tempering.

The NorthGlass SC-Z15K15050 (also referred to as the 15m x 3.2m series) is an ultra-large, or "jumbo-size," architectural glass unit designed for high-end curtain walls and structural glazing. Manufactured by NorthGlass, this specific type is typically part of their super-oversized processing lines, which can handle panels up to 18 meters in length.

Technical Specifications
Based on standard NorthGlass technical sheets for this series, the primary data includes:
Dimensions: 15,000 mm (length) x 3,200 mm (width).
Thickness Options: Ranges from 4mm to 19mm for monolithic panes, often used in multi-layer laminated configurations (e.g., 5-layer 15mm or 9-layer 19mm).
Weight: Standard glass density is 2,500 kg/m³.
For a 15mm thick panel of this size, the weight is approximately 37.40 kg/m² (Total: ~1,795 kg per panel).
Processing Capabilities:
Tempering: "Super Flat & Spotless" technology to ensure uniform anisotropy and minimal optical distortion.
Lamination: Can be laminated using SentryGlas (SGP) or PVB interlayers for safety and structural integrity.
Coating: Compatible with Low-E (single, double, or triple silver) for thermal performance.

Physical Properties & Standards
Property Value/Standard
Max Size 3.6m x 18.0m (Current production limit)
Surface Compression ≥ 10,000 psi (for tempered units)
Safety Ratings Compliance with GB/T15763.3, ASTM C1172, and EN14449
Heat Treatment Available with Heat Soak Testing (HST) to prevent spontaneous breakage
Product Description
The NorthGlass Processed Glass line is characterized by its ability to provide seamless, large-scale visual continuity without mechanical fixings disrupting the surface. The SC-Z15K15050 type is frequently used in landmark projects, such as flagship Apple Stores and national banks, where "extra white" or "low iron" glass is preferred for its high light transmittance and neutral color appearance.
